What does Abstract, Contemporary or Modern Art mean to you? For me it is this...
Artistic exploration
Abstract Art in its various interpretations of expression, color, texture and beauty: my personal artistic exploration of art and the discoveries of multiple painting techniques, such as Fluid Acrylic (Pouring), Pop Art, Street Art and mixed techniques with textures , Masking Tape and Glow In the Dark.
About me, my story and my paintings…
Hello, I am Juan Carlos “Jc Artist”, a visual artist from Barcelona who has dedicated himself to creating unique abstract images with a lot of passion, sensitivity and color. I am self-taught and work mainly with mixed media and acrylics for the most part, and my artistic practice focuses on fluid art, vibrant colors and the fusion of different materials and textures, as well as the creation of portraits and works in Pop Art and Street Art style.
I am an enthusiast of the works of the great Salvador Dalí and at the same time, of course, of Modernist Art (Art Noveau) embodied in Antoni Gaudí as its greatest exponent. The work of Leonardo da Vinci always caught my attention, his plasticity and ability to play all types of techniques and disciplines. I loved Monet's French Impressionism, among others.
My journey in art began, like the vast majority, with the figurative art of drawing what is seen. As a child I was very good at drawing at school, but I didn't go any further, and I left this aspect dormant but latent in my life. My grandfather made wooden boats and also painted them on canvas. Already in my adulthood, as a result of the pandemic and thanks to my wife, I began to really explore my artistic side, and little by little, over time I began to try, create and innovate with figurative art, leading to it for me unknown abstract art, which, a priori, seemed to me much more complex than it might seem.
I believe that any person, if they let themselves go and let their imagination fly, is capable of creating something incredible and unique, but this society is set up so that we continue in the Matrix, and the most difficult thing is to believe oneself as a creative person. and carry it out, without needing any approval.
My initial abstract style is strongly influenced by the style of John Beckley and the use of stencils, masking tape and the creation of textures with the incorporation of materials such as modeling clay combined with the neon fluorine colors of the Glow in the Dark style used by Crisco Art, and the vision of these works later with ultraviolet light. Linked to the discovery of fluid acrylic by Olga Soby, Molly’s Artistry, Tiktus Art, among other pouring artists. But above all, I have always been drawn to the striking and colorful styles of Pop Art and Street Art and the fusion of both styles, creating my own personal interpretation of any famous person or ordinary person, increasingly using spray and typical elements. of graffiti and acrylic markers.
These techniques add an additional dimension to my abstract expressionist style, creating a unique aesthetic that evokes energy, strength and vitality. My artwork invites viewers to reflect on the processes of creation and fusion of techniques present in our everyday modern environment.
The abstract expressionist style of my works is the result of an active engagement with colors and structures, where I aim to tell a story, stimulating the imagination of the person looking at it. I try to transfer my emotions, positivity and experiences to the viewer, so that he can discover and experience new visions, and the latter finally giving him his particular interpretation.
Intense colors, shapes, textures and contours are very important to me. In my studio I paint with a wide variety of utensils, from brushes, markers, scrapers, sprays, everyday objects and even typical painting spatulas. From acrylic paint to structural modeling paste, creating everything from small works to large canvases. I love to innovate a lot and I am always eager to experiment with new techniques.
Currently I paint all the styles I like, not limiting myself to a single technique.
I accept personalized orders, and if you prefer you can send me an email and a photo of the style you want my work to be made in, or the person or character you would like to characterize the Pop Art – Street Art style, which will then fit perfectly into your home.
